![]() Sort of like bi and pan have minute but important distinguishing factors. It is nice to have words that belong to each of our communities within communities. Pan seems a better fit in many instances. I would be wonderful if they had their own word. I wish there were was a word for trans women and women who are same GENDER attracted and don’t really need the “same sex” part. I have a degree in English and understand that the definition of words can and do evolve and we seem to be in quite a transition right now in America. The literal definition is that a lesbian is a female attracted to other females (Ie same sexual traits). I am pretty traditional and the word lesbian TO ME means same sex AND same gender attracted. I am not trans and never will be so I listen and assist and in return we have respectful and helpful dialogue when I don’t understand something.Īs far as the trans lesbian part. ![]() I WILL NOT speak for what works for them. When I worked with Pride I also sought out trans people to get involved. ![]() I encourage the trans group to be accountable to their own goals and actions and support them by helping with keeping space available and working on funding to pay fo events and seminars that might be helpful. I want all LGBTQ people to have a seat at the table. I actively recruited a trans woman to be on the board. The trans specific group Transformations has grown partly due to my efforts to advertise the group in many areas, ensuring old and young trans people meet there for mentorship and support. And yes I support trans women and tran men, I over see PFLAG, proudly growing the group. Let me break this down AGAIN.I am a same sex, same gender attracted bio woman lesbian.
